Greens member for the Mining and Pastoral Region Robin Chapple MLC has praised Senator Christine Milne for her courage, integrity and vision as leader of the Australian Greens.
“I would like to personally thank Christine for her 25 years of service, not just to the Australian Greens, but to Australia,” Mr Chapple said.
“I have confidence she will continue to use her extensive knowledge and experience to continue the climate fight.
“We have moved forward in leaps and bounds under her fearless leadership; it is impossible to imagine the party being where it is today without her commitment.”
Mr Chapple has welcomed Senator Richard Di Natale as the Australian Greens leader along with new deputies Senator Scott Ludlam and Senator Larissa Waters.
“Today’s leadership outcome reflects the immense capability, diversity and maturity of our party and I am proud to be a small part of that machine,” he said.
“We have multi-state representation and a strong leadership team which positions us strongly to tackle 21st century issues which are, increasingly, central green issues.
“I have worked closely with Scott Ludlam for a long time and know him to be a man of immense integrity whom I have no doubt will excel in this new position.
“I have an enormous amount of faith in the abilities of this leadership team and look forward to working with them to fight for a better Australia!”
