Greens MLC Robin Chapple and former WA Federal Senator Jo Vallentine of the Anti-Nuclear Alliance of Western Australia, together with Environs Kimberly Inc, will talk about the dangers of uranium mining in the Kimberley at an information night to be held in Broome next week.

The two presentations will be factual talks regarding the actual progress and likely consequences of mining and transporting uranium in the Kimberley.

Robin Chapple MLC’s talk; ‘Radiated Regions – the Kimberley’, will reveal the locations of potential uranium mines in the Kimberly and the likely consequences of those mines going ahead for members of the communities in and around Broome.

Jo Vallentine’s talk: ‘Ban Uranium Mining Permanently’ will focus on the real effects of uranium mining, including the health hazards of radioactive material and the consequences of transport accidents. Both presentations will be honest, upfront accounts of what the future holds for the Kimberley if uranium mining goes ahead.
